Working with you and your pet individually, we will try to provide helpful insight into your pet’s behavior and develop a behavior modification/training plan that works toward lasting solutions.

The Pet Adoption Center is located on Stone Quarry Road, one mile past Cum Park Plaza off North Church in Burlington, NC. We are located just off Highway 70 East. From Downtown Burlington, travel Hwy.70 East toward Haw River. After entering the Haw River incorporated city limits travel to the next stoplight (Quarry Rd.) and take a left. Travel approximately one half mile and the shelter is on the right. *adoption fee may vary for animals who have been spayed or neutered while in our care, including but not limited to Petsmart Adoption Kiosk Cats and New Leash on Life DogsIn order to match our pets with their perfect owner, we undergo a relatively thorough background check during our adoption process. This includes a vet reference, as well as various questions regarding their future home life (fenced back yard? any other pets or small children? etc.) We will ask you some basic questions over the phone to assure compatibility and to better understand just what you're looking for. That way we can match you with a pet that best suits your needs as well as theirs. From there, we will set up a "meet 'n greet," so you can spend some time with the prospective pet, and get to know him/her more intimately. No pet will go home with its new owner on the same day, however. We will do a home delivery, and if needed, you can borrow some basic supplies to get you started (i.e. pet crate, dog food, leash/collar, etc.)!We have a volunteer program that begins with a visit to the shelter to submit an application. We will schedule an orientation class with other potential volunteers to introduce you to the facility and type of help we are looking for. Training, bathing and grooming, socialzing, walking and playing all help to make dogs and cats more adoptable. We have administrative jobs, internet listing of adoptable pets, and a wide range of general office assistance to help our facility be the best we can be. Our website photo was taken by a volunteer! Our dog listings that begin with (NLOL) are a special program we participate in with the assistance of Craven Correctional Institution inmates. The dogs are sent to live at the institution for 8 weeks and they are teamed with an inmate to learn house training, crate training and basic obedience training. After graduation the dog is available to be taken home but the adoption process starts when it is listed on petfinder. Adopt one cat and save two. When you adopt from Cat Angels Pet Adoptions, you open a spot so that we can take another cat or kitten from a kill shelter. You save the cat you adopt and guarantee that a second cat will have a chance at a forever home in our no-kill shelter - for as long as it takes.
