Perfect Pets Rescue, Inc - Home
Pet Rescue has been helping abandoned animals and finding homes for them since 1982. We are particular about finding the right match between people and pets. We take in only as many as we can properly take care of and don't kill any. We take care of them in our homes and foster homes. Many of our adoptions are from home to home which entails as little displacement and stress for the dog or cat as possible. If we don't have an appropriate pet for a specific need, we refer the request to other rescue groups. Each week, hundreds of healthy and very adoptable dogs, cats, kittens, and pups are euthanized simply because their time in a shelter has run out. We focus our efforts on rescuing pets from facilities that are unable to house them indefinitely. In our first year of operation, S.A.F.E. saved over 500 animals, and to date, we have saved over 7,000 lives! Perfect Pets Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity licensed by the GA Department of Agriculture. We take in mostly small and medium sized dogs of any breed. All our animals come from high-kill shelters in GA. We foster them in GA where they get vetted, spayed/neutered, and when they are healthy we transport them to NY. We have many wonderful dogs that need homes, please contact us and we will help you find your perfect companion!Visit our website
An application is required to start the adoption process, there is no fee to apply BUT YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, all dogs are fostered in private homes. You will need to apply before meeting a dog.
We are all volunteers and have jobs, families, fosters and pets of our own to care for. We do our best to reply as quickly as possible. Please be patient but if you have not heard back within 48-72 hrs, please inquire again.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Diane Morgan, a fellow animal lover and rescuer, has written a very thought-provoking NOTE TO ADOPTERS. Please contemplate her wise advice as you consider adopting a rescue dog. Diane writes.... "Lassie and Cleo and Rin Tin Tin and Toto don't show up in rescue. We don't get the elegantly coiffed, classically beautiful, completely trained, perfectly behaved dog. We get the leftovers. Dogs that other people have incompetently bred, inadequately socialized, ineffectively "trained," and badly treated. Most Rescue dogs have had it. They've been pushed from one lousy situation to another. They've never had proper veterinary care, kind and consistent training, or sufficient company. They've lived outside, in a crate, or in the basement. They're scared, depressed and anxious. Some are angry. Some are sick. Some have given up. But we are Rescue and we don't give up. We never give up on a dog. We know that a dog is a living being, with a spirit and a heart and feelings. Our dogs are not commodities, things, or garbage. They are part of sacred creation and they deserve as much love and care and respect as the next Westminster champion. So please, please don't come to rescue in the hopes of getting a "bargain," or indeed of "getting" anything. Come to Rescue to give, to love, to save a life -- and to mend your own spirit. For Rescue will reward you in ways you never thought possible. I can promise you this -- a rescue dog will make you a better person.".
All of our adoptable pets are fully vetted, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, spay or neuter, micro-chip, monthly flea-tick prevention and monthly heart worm prevention.
